Come camping in Hope / British Columbia

Hope is a town of approximately 7,000 people located at the confluence of the Fraser and Coquihalla rivers in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Hope is at the eastern end of both the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland region, and is at the southern end of the Fraser Canyon. To the east over the Cascade Mountains is the Interior region, beginning with the Similkameen Country on the farther side of the Allison Pass in Manning Park. Located 154 kilometres (96 mi) east of Vancouver, Hope is at the southern end of the Coquihalla Highway and the western end of the Crowsnest Highway (locally known as the Hope–Princeton), (Highways 5 and 3, respectively) where they merge with the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1). Hope is at the eastern terminus of Highway 7.

Lots of hiking, walking and biking in HopeBC!  The Hudson's Bay Company 1849 Brigade Trail (Hope to Otter Lake), for example, is restored through the efforts of a number of local organizations. The northern end of the Pacific Crest Trail, that stretches to Mexico, is in Manning Park, just 45 minutes drive from Hope. There are also many short trails, ideal for half hour or one hour walks including short trails along the Fraser River, the Coquihalla River, and salmon spawning beds near Kawkawa Lake. The Trans-Canada Trail and its constituent components (Silver Creek Trail and Coquihalla Canyon Trail, which is part of the famed Kettle Valley Railway) as well as the Rotary Nature Trail, Mount Hope Trail and the Hope-Nicola Valley Trail (off the Othello Tunnels Trail) are other trails that comprise a trail experience with exceptional heritage and natural features, with different lengths and degrees of difficulty and suitable for varying levels of fitness and ability.

Your camping experience will be well supported in Hope with several grocery stores, a camping equipment store, health food, hospital, coffee shops, movie theatre,  bike repair shop, car repair shops, recreational complex with ice rink, pool, library and numerous excellent places to eat!  If the weather gets really, really bad, there are very many great B&B's and motels in town.  A full contingent of emergency services is based in Hope including RCMP detachment, fire department, search and rescue response teams and ambulance station.

Numerous locations such as coffee shops and the library offer free wifi so you can stay connected.
