About Beaver Lake Mountain Resort / Winfield

Beaver Lake Mountain Resort & Wellness

For city dwellers and country folk alike, escaping to the Okanagan mountains has become a popular vacation option for those looking to side-step the rat-race and get some rest and relaxation. In addition to the pristine wilderness setting and unparalleled tranquillity, Beaver Lake Mountain Resort is only a short trip down from the mountains to some of the best golf courses and wineries in the area, making for numerous day-trip options.

There are vast trail systems leading to high-elevation viewpoints overlooking Kelowna, Okanagan Lake and Beaver Lake. The variety of flowers and plants that are native to this area is impressive. Nature walks can run anywhere from a full-day event to half-hour jaunts into the forest and along the lake-shore. These trails meander through a countryside that is home to, beavers, squirrels, rabbits, marmots, coyotes and deer. On more rare occasions you might even spot a cougar, black bear, or lynx. Bird species in the region include: swallows, loons, osprey, many species of duck, blue herons, grouse, kill deer, owls, wood peckers, steller jays and hummingbirds.

Nothing comes close to the feeling of hooking a big trout. Whether you are a seasoned angler or a beginner, the fishing you'll experience at Beaver Lake will keep you on your toes. If you intend to hike, bike, canoe, fish, go boating, or enjoy wilderness excursions with camera in-hand, the resort does provide some equipment rentals and guide services (excluding cameras – you'll need to bring your own). The Lodge also sports a traditional Finnish sauna on-site to relax your muscles and take the edge off at the end of the day. Check out the rental section of the website for a current list of prices.

Spacious, individual camping and RV sites are tucked smartly into a natural forest setting. Each site has its own fire-pit and picnic table. The campground is serviced by central flush toilets and hot showers.

Owner Adrian Hasler, sees himself as a steward of the wilderness surrounding the resort and has converted the entire lodge to solar power in the interests of supporting the environment and his personal philosophy to maintain ecologically responsibly practices. “The main reason we've converted to solar panels is to be environmentally responsible and continue to be viable in the coming decades,” Adrian says. “We've installed a bank of 120 watt panels and the entire camp is running on solar power. The lake is a watershed so it is doubly important to use clean technology.”

The Lotus Wellness Retreat

The Wellness Retreat at Beaver Lake Resort is operated by Daniela Hasler, a certified kinesiology practitioner. Daniela studied osteopathy for four years in Europe and completed her holistic health practitioner certification in Canada in 2004.
